TrackSEO Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how TrackSEO handles merchant, product, SEO, and support data when merchants use the app with Shopify.

What we use

Product and SEO data

TrackSEO focuses on shop, product, SEO, billing, and support data needed to optimize product content.

What we avoid

Customer and order data

The core workflow does not intentionally use customer names, addresses, payment data, or order histories.

Why it matters

Controlled SEO automation

Merchants can optimize Shopify products with clearer descriptions, search listings, and image alt text.

1. Who we are

TrackSEO is a Shopify app that helps merchants optimize Shopify product content, SEO titles, SEO descriptions, and image alt text. This policy applies to the TrackSEO app, the support portal, and related public documentation pages.

2. Data we process

TrackSEO processes only the data needed to operate the app and provide support.

  • Shop information such as shop domain, shop name, granted scopes, app install status, and billing status.
  • Product information such as product IDs, titles, handles, existing descriptions, SEO titles, SEO descriptions, and image alt text needed for optimization.
  • Optimization records such as local SEO status, optimization count, last error message, and timestamps for the latest check or optimization.
  • App settings such as selected interface language, content language, and enabled SEO targets.
  • Support request information such as the merchant name, email address, shop URL, message content, and technical request metadata.
  • Operational logs and webhook delivery records needed for reliability, troubleshooting, and security.

3. Data minimization

TrackSEO is designed to minimize data use. The app focuses on product and shop data required to generate SEO improvements. It does not intentionally process customer profiles, payment details, or shipping data for its core workflow.

4. Why we process data

  • To connect a merchant's Shopify store to TrackSEO.
  • To read product content and generate SEO-optimized descriptions, search listing content, and image alt text.
  • To display optimization status and usage limits inside the app.
  • To run manual and daily optimization workflows for products that still need optimization.
  • To provide support, investigate issues, and maintain app security and reliability.

5. How we share data

TrackSEO shares data only with service providers required to operate the app, including Shopify, the AI provider used to generate SEO content, and the infrastructure used to host TrackSEO. TrackSEO does not sell merchant data or customer data.

6. Retention

TrackSEO keeps app data only for as long as it is needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and investigate abuse or technical issues. Merchants can contact TrackSEO support regarding deletion requests. Where Shopify sends a redaction request, TrackSEO processes it through the app's compliance workflow.

7. Security

TrackSEO uses HTTPS, signed webhook validation, encrypted storage for sensitive secrets, and access controls designed to protect the data processed by the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely risk free, but TrackSEO uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data.

8. Merchant responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their own privacy notices and internal processes are appropriate for their Shopify workflows. Merchants should only connect accounts and submit data they are authorized to use.

9. Changes to this policy

TrackSEO may update this policy from time to time. If material changes are made, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date.
